Slow Cooked Beef and Vegetables

  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.2 kg chuck steak, cubed
  • 2 medium brown onions, halved and sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced into wedges
  • 3 medium carrots, peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup tomato paste
  • 500 ml (2 cups) Campbell’s Real Stock - Beef
  • 3 bay leaves


  1. Place flour and paprika in a medium bowl. Dust meat in the flour. Heat 2 tbsp of the olive oil in a medium to large frypan. Cook beef in batches until well browned. Place beef in a 4.5 litre capacity slow cooker.
  2. Add remaining oil to frypan and cook onion and garlic for 1 minute or until softened. Remove and place in slow cooker.
  3. Add potatoes, carrots, tomato paste, Campbell’s Real Stock - Beef and bay leaves to slow cooker.
  4. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 6 hours.
